We Are Instants

We are moments

We are instants, passing moments and a succession of memories. We are travelers in time, in a fraction of the world in which we install our life as if it would last forever. But the truth is that we are fleeting, we are like footprints in the sand that the waves erase at the moment. However, despite this, we believe that we are cement.

We insist on living installed in the story of what hurts us and in the regret of not having what we lack and we forget to live what we have. We let time slip away without thinking that nothing is eternal, neither what you love nor what hurts you, because in reality we are a succession of moments, we are fleeting instants.

We want everything at the moment, we have no place to breathe, everything is fast, everything passes and nothing is enjoyed. In the world of fast food, express appointments and crowded work appointment schedules, we have lost perspective on the value of time, worrying more about suffering than the pleasure of the simple things of life.

We are crazy who do not know how to live in the moment

We are crazy who do not know how to live in the moment. We prefer to go quickly looking at the ground instead of enjoying where we are. We prefer to run to get anywhere instead of walking and breathing what surrounds us. We prefer to let time slip through our fingers than to grasp the moment tightly to live it without fear.

Defend your abilities against the passage of time

We want everything quickly because there is always something more important, something beyond enjoying the present moment and we forget to enjoy what we have, because we never stop long enough to realize it. We live locked in a time tunnel, a dark tunnel with a single light in the background that prevents us from seeing what surrounds us and that pushes us to go blind towards that uncertain future.

We are instants that live as if we were eternal. We are instants that do not enjoy what we have around us at all times. We behave as if there is time to enjoy the good when, in fact, we are missing it.

We are “masocas” installed in suffering

And instead, when something hurts us, we are “masoch” installed in suffering. We plunge into pain and embrace complaining as if there is nothing else in the world but our problems. We blind ourselves to that pain and stop seeing what else is out there.

We rummage through our wounds slowly and without looking for solutions. Our conversations become monotonous day by day because we stop our clocks on what hurts us. We are moments less when we suffer, then we are eternal and harmful.

I've been feeling empty inside for a long time

In that black hole of suffering in which we gladly find ourselves immersed, we blind ourselves to the light that makes us get out of our problems because we are only capable of feeling that since we always let the good escape. We forget to remind ourselves that we are instants and pain is temporary.

If we are instants, let’s live them without fear

Therefore, it is better to remind ourselves that if we are instants, it is best to live them fully and without fear. We choose how we spend our moments. We can say that a glass of water is half full or we can say that it is half empty and both positions are correct, but the most optimistic way is the one that will make you enjoy life the most.

You have to think that everything happens, everything changes and everything can be modified. We can decide how we live our own situations, both good and bad. We can enjoy every present moment without it escaping us and we can escape suffering without being caught, but accepting both in their proper measure.

You decide how to spend each moment, how to color each memory and how to accept each moment. You live your life and shape your present. Only you can decide to enjoy every step of the way or hold on to your fears and not enjoy every moment.

Only you can prevent that when your end comes you want to ask time for time to miss what you have not done. Nobody can give more time to the clock, the moments pass, you decide if you take advantage of them or let them pass. Every second counts, live and don’t look back, live or else you will regret it.
