Action Is The True Measure Of Intelligence

Action is the true measure of intelligence

Every time we act or do something we are transmitting and leaving an impact on others and on ourselves. Hence the importance of having a perfect harmony between what we feel, think and do. Action defines us; Let’s think that if we want to convey something, our actions will be the first to speak for us.

To act is to stop having a passive role to go on to have an active role. It is about the effect that a person has on a certain situation. The ultimate intelligence is in what we do. We may think that we will ever do what we want so much, fantasize about possible events that we want to do, but they can only be carried out if we act.

Any behavior that we repeat regularly builds our identity, lifestyle, and the attitude we will have towards life. That is why it is so important to include activities that bring us closer to our goals in our daily habits. These will not be achieved by simply thinking about them or by luck: let’s act to achieve our goals.

When the action stays in intention

The intention is the will, it is the thought, it is the idea. It is a mental phenomenon that needs facts to come true. We can have the intention to improve or progress, but if we do not take actions, the intention will only be a handful of illusions.

If we look for the perfect moment to act, that moment will never come. So that action does not remain a mere intention, we have to believe that the time to act is today.  A fact, no matter how small, will always be better than the greatest intention.

Many of the intentions and promises – that we make to ourselves and to others – are not fulfilled because we are not capable of taking action. Sometimes the difficulty of our decisions is multiplied by the fear of being wrong; but it is  better to act and repent than to repent of not having done anything.

The reward of an action is in having done it

What leads us to act one way or another? What are the reasons that lead us to act as we do? The motivations that guide us in our daily life can be found  intermingled, the internal motivations being more powerful and effective than the external ones.

When we act to outdo ourselves, we are reinforcing what we do just by getting started. If the performance of the behavior itself is what moves us, the reasons that lead to the activation of this behavioral pattern are inherent to our person without the need for external stimuli. This type of motivation is what leads us to action and this action is what will lead us to success in whatever we set out to do.

Internal motivation is the art of motivating ourselves for action. This is not born with the aim of achieving an economic benefit or immediate results. It emerges from within the person in order to satisfy their desires for self-realization and personal growth.

The feeling of stagnation usually appears when there is no clear and defined motivation to act to act. This apathy is usually accompanied by a growing psychic negativity. Thus, the mental barriers that prevent us from moving from words to deeds can become our most dangerous enemy.

Think that the changes you want for yourself will never come if you don’t design a plan and execute it. You may be wrong doing it, but the learning you gain will not stop being one more step in the direction you want, even if it takes time to get up and try again. Then you will be stronger, wiser.
